The final symposium The IMPI initiative and beyond. Mapping and profiling internationalisation took place in Brussels on 10 May 2012.

Third Workshop, Second Round

The third Workshop of the Second Round took place in Paris, France on February 9 and 10, 2012. The participants discussed the results of the benchmarking exercise and the limits and usefulness of measuring internationalisation and the IMPI toolbox. Good practices were identified and plans for and interests in post-IMPI activities were voiced by the participants.

Second Workshop Second Round

Second Workshop took place in Bella Center, Copenhagen, Denmark on 12 September 2011. The participants discussed the findings from the individual self-assessments as far as relevant for the group benchmarking and agreed on the indicators to use for the benchmarking. Substantial time was spent on the definitions and clarifications of indicators.

First workshop second round announced

On May 25th, the first workshop of the second testing round took place in Vienna after the ACA conference. The participating universities exchanged their views on goal dimensions and rationales as well as discussing the indicators and method for the self-assessment which will take place until the second workshop in September.

The Hague workshop

The third workshop of the first testing round took place in The Hague, The Netherlands on 11th February 2011. During the workshop the groups discussed their findings, the relevance of indicators for measuring internationalisation and needs for improvement of both the toolbox and the glossary. This workshop officially closed the first testing round but some of the members agreed to further work with the (ever improving) toolbox on their own.

Nantes Workshop

The IMPI project has completed its second workshop of the first benchmarking round. It took place in Nantes, France on 14th September 2010. One focus was on the development of the online toolbox, which is currently available as a test version. The aim of the online toolbox is to document how the process of internationalisation is being implemented at HEIs and how achieving this objective and the quality of the efforts being made can be measured. The online toolbox supports the HEIs` efforts in its self-learning function. The final version of the toolbox will allow HEIs to select indicators relevant to their situation.

Berlin Workshop

The IMPI project finished its first workshop of the first round of benchmarking. It will took place on April 15-16, 2010 at the University of Technology in Berlin. The workshop brought together the associate partners and the core partners of the project. The main aim of the workshop was to discuss the first draft version of the Indicator toolbox and develop the next steps. This workshop is therefore the first step of validation in the ongoing three-year project. The workshop was very successful. More than 20 participants from associated partner institutions participated, the discussions were fruitful and effective. The social framework, in particular the Spanish dinner, was supportive. Finally, the entire group want to express its gratefulness to the TU Berlin for this kind hospitality.
